Questions about Surfing the Web

Q. How do I know if what I read is reliable or true?
A. There are no guarantees, but here are a few tips:
Who posted the information? What do you know about them? If you know that the source is reliable, it is more likely to be true. For example, if you are reading an article on nbc.com, it is likely to be the same information you would hear on the six o'clock news. Use common sense. If you can't find information on another site verifying what you have read one site, it may not be true.

Q. How do I go to a web site I've heard about?
A. Type the name of the site on the address line (Internet Explorer) or location line (Netscape Navigator).

Q. Do you recommend a search engine?
A. You can use any search engine you like. A few are:

www.altavista.com

www.buscar.com (Buscador Espaņol)

www.excite.com

www.google.com

www.lycos.com

www.yahoo.com
