Dedicated T-1's A dedicated T-1 is a landline provisioned by a incumbent local carrier (ILEC)
and is then usually handed off to a competetive local carrier (CLEC) for the delivery of data or voice services. A T-1 is broken up into 24 channels of 64k each, so a full T-1 carries the possible data throughput of
1.544 mbs. Dedicated data (Internet) T-1s are intended for small, medium, and large companies alike that need the higher quality of service that a T-1 carries. A T-1 line is not hampered by loop length (like
conventional CO-based DSL) and carries a higher SLA (Service Level Agreement) than other forms of data service.
Note: The installation timeframe for a dedicated T-1 is dependent on the telephone company's facilities. The average installation is 45 calendar days although this is
still sooner than most service providers can provision DSL. If you need to know if a dedicated T-1 is right for your company, or for pricing, please Contact us at;
